AECOM is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Bristol team, leading mechanical design across building services and infrastructure projects. You will direct multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and innovative solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include client engagement, technical leadership, and delivery across healthcare, education, and transport sectors, with a focus on energy efficiency and low-carbon solutions.

Formación

• Extensive experience in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects across a variety of sectors.
• Leading multidisciplinary design teams and successfully delivering complex engineering projects.
• Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, public-health engineering, heating and cooling plant, low-carbon technologies, and sustainable building services design.
• Experience delivering projects within Education, Rail/transport infrastructure, and related sectors.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the mechanical design and successful delivery of major building services projects across healthcare, education, transport, and data centre sectors.
• Provide technical leadership on complex projects, ensuring designs comply with Irish and international standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams with electrical, structural, civil, architectural, and specialist engineering disciplines.
• Develop energy-efficient, low-carbon mechanical engineering solutions to support sustainable building design.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout all stages of project delivery.
• Manage project schedules, resources, budgets, and commercial performance to ensure successful outcomes.
• Review and approve engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
• Mentor and support the professional development of junior engineers and graduates.
• Support business development by contributing to proposals, client presentations, and project interviews.
• Drive continuous improvement and promote engineering excellence across Building Services.
