Job summary

Smart Managed Solutions in London is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for a high-profile contract in St Pauls. You will lead maintenance of mechanical systems, perform PPM, reactive and breakdown work on HVAC, hot and cold-water systems and generators, and assist with fault-finding.

The role requires formal mechanical engineering training (City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 2) and 2+ years in a similar position. We offer progression, training and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Formally trained in mechanical engineering (City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 2).
• 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to all mechanical plant in accordance with site task schedules and asset lists
• Complete reactive tasks; be proactive in highlighting improvements, including concessionary stores and fabric items
• Complete and submit all paperwork for reactive and breakdown tasks and ensure compliance with contractual KPI’s/SLA’s
• Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and client representatives and ensure professional image of Smart Managed Solutions
• Ensure that all plant rooms are always locked and are kept clean and tidy
• Supervise and monitor sub-contractors works whilst they are on site
• Ensure compliance with Permit to Work, safety procedures, and client requirements; promote safe practices with correct PPE and follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments.

Be part of the Smart Team! We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our high-profile contract in St Pauls. This is a Monday to Friday position working 08:00-17:00.

Purpose

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all environmental conditions and critical building systems are maintained to the highest standard. You will carry out PPM, reactive and breakdown work on all mechanical systems, with knowledge of HVAC, hot & cold-water systems and generators, and the ability to fault-find using graphical and alarm data. Basic electrical knowledge is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to all mechanical plant in accordance with site task schedules and asset lists
• Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. These reactive calls to also include concessionary stores and fabric related items
• Complete and submit all paperwork for reactive and breakdown tasks and ensure compliance with contractual KPI’s/SLA’s
• Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and client representatives and ensure professional image of Smart Managed Solutions
• Ensure that all plant rooms are always locked and are kept clean and tidy

Education And Training

• Formally trained in a mechanical engineering discipline (e.g. HVAC, Plumbing) to City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 2
• 2 + years’ experience in a similar role
