Job summary

RSE is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead multidisciplinary design activities within our in‑house team for wastewater and dosing projects. You will drive scoping, detailed design and implementation, ensuring alignment with client specifications and regulatory standards, with a strong emphasis on low‑carbon solutions.

You will oversee design work across multiple projects, manage procurement activities, and lead change control while liaising with key stakeholders to deliver

Qualifications

• Degree/HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience of working in a multidiscipline design team.
• Experience of working at all design stages is highly desirable.
• Design management experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to work on multiple projects consecutively.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design aspects of projects from inception to implantation.
• Ensure compliance with Client specification and current regulatory standards.
• Develop design deliverables.
• Complete checking and approval processes.
• Arrange procurement of goods and services.
• Prepare work scope estimates/quotations.
• Assemble contract works information documents.
• Consider project health and safety, quality, and environmental matters.
• Liaise with all key stakeholders for the projects.
• Implement project change control and programme requirements.
• Take responsibility as Design Lead on allocated projects.
