Job summary

Rullion is recruiting a Senior/Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for water sector projects in Manchester. You will lead mechanical design deliverables for clean water and wastewater schemes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and client requirements, while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role offers hybrid working and progression through engineering governance, with opportunities to influence standards across major UK water frameworks.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years' mechanical design experience within the UK regulated water industry.
• Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
• Experience delivering mechanical designs for water projects.
• Experience in clean water and/or wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical design deliverables that meet safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specs and design documentation.
• Develop designs for clean water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Mentor and develop Engineers, Graduates and CAD Technicians.
• Review subcontract Mechanical & Electrical design outputs.
• Coordinate with suppliers and review tender submissions.
