Job summary

Cortech Talent Solutions Ltd is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer in Dundee to grow a high-precision design team. You will own design projects, guide engineers, and collaborate with clients to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

The role involves leading design releases, mentoring team members, and driving process improvements while ensuring compliance with industry standards. On-site with a strong cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

3+ years of mechanical design experience for Engineer level, 5+ years for Lead level.
Advanced SolidWorks user with PDM experience; CFD/FEA familiarity is a plus at Lead level.
Experience with sheet metal, plastics fabrication, machining.
Ability to ensure projects meet financial viability and profitability.
Able to lead and mentor mechanical engineers; delegate work effectively.

Responsibilities

Deliver full lifecycle design projects from concept to customer delivery.
Collaborate with architects, clients, engineers and manufacturers on feasibility and execution.
Produce fit-for-purpose designs and perform calculations to meet standards.
Prepare equipment specs, cost estimates, and scope of work for proposals.
Provide guidance and leadership to junior engineers and contractors.
