Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an experienced Lead / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer near Leicester to lead the design, detailing and delivery of bespoke automation and robotic systems from order to handover. You will manage multiple projects, communicate with customers, suppliers and team members to ensure on-time, within-budget completion.

The role requires strong 3D CAD skills, design reviews, BOM management, and close collaboration with electrical design, fitters and sites visits.

Qualifications

• Senior mechanical design experience on special purpose automation equipment.
• Proven ability to lead design and delivery from concept to handover.
• Experience communicating with customers, suppliers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design, detailing and delivery of multiple SPS projects.
• Perform 3D CAD work and coordinate design reviews with stakeholders.
• Produce BOMs and manage builds with fitters and electricians.
• Liaise with customers onsite for measurements and requirements.
• Compile and maintain Technical Construction File and risk assessments.
• Ensure projects meet budget, timeframes and safety standards.
