Job summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer role at Maxwell Bond is a hands-on leadership position in an aerospace and defence engineering environment. You will own mechanical design across programmes, from concept through to build and test, and mentor engineers to strengthen the team’s capability.

Hybrid working with regular site attendance is required, and eligibility for UK Security Clearance at SC level is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Extensive mechanical design experience in aerospace/defence or equivalent.
• Proven ability to own CAD architecture and drawings with releases.
• Experience with metallic and composite structures.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing drawings and PLM processes.
• Hands-on with prototype development, integration and testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from concept to verification.
• Support prototype builds, integration and testing.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Communicate across engineering teams to own technical ownership.
