Job summary

ALPINE F1 Team is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the Suspension Design group in Enstone. You will own technical delivery, mentor junior engineers and drive design excellence across the car year-on-year, with a hands-on approach and strong collaboration.

You should have senior-level experience in motorsport, a degree in Engineering, and CAD proficiency (Catia V5/3DX preferred, NX also acceptable).

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior role, ideally within F1 or high-level motorsport.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in Engineering.
• Solid knowledge of manufacturing techniques and latest materials technology.
• CAD experience with Catia V5/3DX; training available for NX or similar.
• Self-motivated, hands-on, able to deliver designs to deadlines with collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Head of Section to determine technical requirements.
• Take ownership of Detailed Design Specifications and Project plans.
• Carry out conceptual work, defining key parameters from input and simulations.
• Lead a group of engineers to deliver on schedule and budget.
• Approve reports as part of the design process.

You will also support your team to grow and develop, ensuring that their competencies and capabilities align with business goals and expectations.## Your challenge* Work with the Head of Section and other Heads of Department to determine technical requirements.* Take ownership of Detailed Design Specifications and Project plans.* Carry-out conceptual work, defining the key project parameters based on external input, your own simulation outcomes and 3D modelling.* Lead a group of engineers to deliver on schedule, on budget, and within constraints, escalating technical or resource conflicts that threaten agreed targets.* Approve the work of reports as a fundamental part of the design process.## Who we wantWe are looking to enhance our talented team with someone who has previous experience within a similar senior role, ideally within F1 or another high-level motorsport. You should be educated to degree level or equivalent within Engineering and have a good base knowledge of manufacturing techniques and latest materials technology.
