Job summary

William Lovell Church of England Academy is seeking a full-time maths teacher who will also take aspirational lead responsibility for named year groups. The post combines classroom teaching with academic and pastoral leadership across key stage transitions, tutor time, assemblies and enrichment activities.

You will collaborate with SEND, wellbeing teams and external agencies to support students’ learning, wellbeing and behaviour, while ensuring safeguarding and school policies are followed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated maths curriculum aligned to National Curriculum requirements.
• Teach an assigned group, set and mark work and monitor pupil progress.
• Lead and develop teaching practice within year groups via quality first teaching.
• Lead academic and pastoral work across key stage transitions, tutor time, assemblies and enrichment.
• Direct and supervise teaching assistants to support learning and welfare.
• Collaborate with SEND, wellbeing teams and external agencies on student needs.
• Lead assemblies, PSHE, tutor periods and daily acts of worship.
• Contribute to developing curriculum, teaching materials and assessment while upholding safeguarding and health and safety policies.
