Job summary

Baker Hughes seeks a Lead Engineer, Materials Science for the Subsea Production Systems (SPS) Global Materials Engineering team. You will guide materials decisions on products, manage risk and budgets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across regions and product lines.

You will assess corrosion control, material selection, and fabrication methods while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Travel and international collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Significant materials engineering experience in offshore/subsea contexts.
• Experience with corrosion mechanisms and prevention.
• Knowledge of material manufacturing processes and welding.

Responsibilities

• Lead materials engineering efforts at product level for projects and tenders.
• Perform contract reviews and highlight exceptions/clarifications.
• Communicate requirements and implications to project teams.
• Manage materials engineering documentation and change trackers.
• Oversee client communications and supplier documentation.
• Monitor material selection, corrosion control, coatings, and manufacturing methods.
