Job summary

Spirits Energy in Barrow-in-Furness seeks a Maintenance & Systems Technical Authority to provide governance and leadership for maintenance strategies, management systems and asset care standards across assets in the UK. The role ensures process safety, asset integrity and regulatory compliance throughout the asset lifecycle.

Based in Barrow-in-Furness on a 2-year PAYE contract, the position requires Chartered Engineer status, extensive maintenance engineering experience, and a proven track

Qualifications

• Extensive onshore/offshore maintenance engineering experience.
• Experience as Technical Authority or senior discipline engineer.
• Degree in an engineering discipline; Chartered Engineer status.
• Experience with event management and Kelvin TopSet training.

Responsibilities

• Act as Technical Authority for maintenance and systems within defined scope.
• Approve or reject technical deviations, dispensations and non-conformances.
• Ensure compliance with UK HSE regimes; COMAH, SEMS and industry standards.
• Ensure maintenance regimes support process safety barriers and production availability.
• Provide technical oversight of critical equipment maintenance and safety critical elements.
• Support failure investigations as required.
• Act as technical owner for maintenance management systems.
• Ensure maintenance systems support strategy execution and backlog control.
• Provide technical leadership for system upgrades and data quality improvements.
• Provide assurance into asset integrity reviews and regulatory engagements.
• Contribute to competence frameworks and technical capability development.
• Provide constructive challenge and escalation where standards or safety may be compromised.
• Lead investigations using Kelvin TopSet techniques.
