Job summary

TipTopJob in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, is seeking a Manufacturing Vision Engineer to lead the deployment of machine vision in next-generation green hydrogen manufacturing. The role suits a hands-on engineer with experience in vision systems, AOI, and production equipment.

You will own camera setups, lighting, optics, data capture for quality and traceability, and collaborate with suppliers and automation engineers to raise reliability and throughput in live production.

Qualifications

5+ years in manufacturing engineering, automation or NPI.
Hands-on experience with industrial machine vision, AOI or inspection systems.
Experience integrating vision with automated manufacturing machinery.
Experience with PLCs and industrial automation systems.

Responsibilities

Lead integration and commissioning of industrial machine vision systems into automated manufacturing equipment and production lines.
Configure and optimise machine vision cameras, lighting, optics and image processing systems to achieve reliable defect detection.
Develop and implement AOI solutions for manufacturing applications.
Integrate vision systems with PLC-controlled machinery and industrial automation systems.
Support installation, setup, commissioning and ramp-up of new manufacturing equipment.
Translate manufacturing and quality requirements into practical vision inspection specifications and configurations.
Troubleshoot image quality, lighting, camera setup, detection performance and system integration.
Collaborate with suppliers and automation engineers to improve vision systems across production areas.
Maintain standards for vision, inspection and DMC/Data Matrix across machines.
