Job summary

BlackRock, Inc. is seeking a Machine Surfacing Supervisor to oversee on-site operations across Surrey, Sussex and the wider South East region.

You will supervise bituminous surfacing works, manage labour, equipment, and schedule compliance while ensuring safety and quality standards. The role requires a proven track record in surfacing and safety management, with strong coordination skills and a practical, results-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in managing and delivering surfacing operations.
• Solid knowledge of Health & Safety and highway specifications.
• Strong coordination and hands-on surfacing experience.
• Enthusiastic, honest and straightforward approach.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage maintenance works with budget and timelines.
• Ensure labour and resources meet operational requirements.
• Ensure operatives are qualified and trained for delivery.
• Manage costs, outputs and performance to maximise profit and minimise remedial work.
• Build and manage relationships with Clients, customers and supply chain.
• Keep accurate records of works including measurements and reconciliations.
• Plan, programme and manage operations for cost-effective methods.
• Ensure H&S processes and requirements are implemented.
• Brief others on Method Statements and Risk Assessments prior to works.
• Minimise waste generation.
• Report incidents through correct channels.
• Deliver inductions and toolbox talks to site staff.
• Submit QMS forms to Contracts Co-ordinator.
• Forward labour, plant and material programmes to the Contracts Co-ordinator in time for ordering.
• Ensure site measures are agreed with clients to mitigate payment delays.
• Carry out regular HSEQ audits on site.
