Job summary

The University of Southampton invites applications for Laboratory Manager/Technical Expert to lead the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Facility. You will oversee Open Access Service delivery and support LC-MS, SFC-MS, GC-MS instrumentation, while guiding staff and students on analytical methods and safe practices.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a facility or laboratory.
• Knowledge of LC-MS, SFC-MS and GC-MS instrumentation.
• Ability to deliver Open Access Service and support multiple instruments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management of the Open Access Service.
• Support and supervise instrumentation within the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Facility.
• Provide specialist advice on LC-MS, SFC-MS and GC-MS instruments to staff and students.
• Ensure operational excellence and Health & Safety in line with university priorities.
