Job summary

Arbury Court, a unit for adult women with personality disorder and mental health conditions, is seeking a Chef to join the kitchen team. The role involves cooking daily meals for service users, staff and visitors, and assisting with menus, stock and safety records.

The successful candidate will have basic food hygiene certification, catering experience in a similar environment, and be willing to train peers and uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent in English.
• City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) basic food preparation and cooking
• Basic food hygiene certificate

Responsibilities

• Cook daily meals to a high standard for service users, staff and visitors.
• Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation.
• Prepare food for conferences, banquets and events.
• Research and create menus meeting healthy eating guidelines.
• Serve food and beverages professionally.
• Maintain stock control and storage procedures.
• Follow food hygiene regulations and Safer Food Better Business standards.
• Keep HACCP records and logs.
• Provide guidance and training to peers.
