Job summary

Royal London is forming a new engineering capability at Alderley Park to deliver a state-of-the-art investments platform. The role leads a team of Java developers and engineers, driving delivery across the full software lifecycle in a hybrid working model.

You will work on enterprise-grade Java, Spring, REST microservices, and cloud/container platforms, mentoring others and delivering performant, scalable solutions with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Expert in enterprise Java development with Spring.
• Experience in REST API microservice development and Kafka.
• Experience with persistence and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Cloud hosting and containerisation (Kubernetes).
• TDD and automated testing; strong agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a development team in delivering a new investments platform.
• Drive end-to-end software delivery across the full SDLC.
• Champion modern engineering practices, performance, and security.
