Job summary

SSR Contract & Technical is seeking an experienced Lead Safety & Security Engineer to own complex security projects across CCTV, Access Control, Intercom and integrated platforms. You will lead installation, commissioning, and handover while mentoring engineers and subcontractors.

The role requires strong networking, standards knowledge (BS EN), and a customer-facing approach. You will support pre-sales, ensure safety and quality, and may cover out-of-hours shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise-scale security system deployments.
• Knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Intercom and integrated security tech.
• Hands-on with Gallagher/Genetec/HikCentral/Hanwha platforms.
• Strong IP networking and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Ability to read drawings and construction docs.
• Experience integrating with third-party systems and BMS.
• Knowledge of BS EN standards.
• Leadership experience managing multiple projects.
• Strong customer-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery, commissioning and handover of integrated systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring.
• Support Project Managers with planning and risk management.
• Conduct site surveys, design reviews and audits.
• Act as primary technical contact for customers.
• Diagnose and resolve complex security issues.
• Ensure documentation and handover packs are complete.
• Support pre-sales activities and upgrades.
• Uphold health, safety, quality and compliance.
• Cover out-of-hours rota as required.
