Job summary

AECOM in London is seeking an Associate Estimator to lead best-in-class estimation across large infrastructure commissions for private and public sector clients.

You'll provide estimation services from feasibility through construction, liaising with clients and contractors and aligning with wider commercial functions. This role supports flexible, mobile delivery with travel across the UK and beyond.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience delivering estimation and commercial excellence to clients.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a sector for estimation (energy, water, transport, defence).
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Experience in delivering cost and commercial activities.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Development of best in class estimation. Work with sector and commercial leads to demonstrate value to clients.
• Development of estimates and alignment with wider practices such as cost and carbon intelligence and inherent risk.
• Able to lead the quantum assessment of projects.
• Optioneering/value engineering to enhance the offering.
• Lead in the build up of rates based on known factors and market data.
• Support in the development of budgets, baselines and forecasts.
• Estimation process and governance improvements.
• Interfacing with project staff including cost, commercial and controls.
• Managing stakeholders and their expectations through regular communications.
• Leading the development of estimation reports and benchmarking.
• Presentation of outputs and recommendations to clients and their supply chain.
• Mentoring junior staff and upskilling stakeholders.
