Job summary

Sopra Steria's Aerospace Defence and Security sector seeks a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to support a large-scale defence project in Farnborough. The role centers on an Automation-first mindset, with deep VMware expertise and automation scripting for provisioning.

You will lead VMware vSphere administration, design hyper-converged storage with vSAN, and build resilient clusters with HA/DRS, applying automation wherever possible. On-site role with DV clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Deep VMware vSphere administration experience across ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters and resource pools.
• vSAN design, deployment and maintenance for hyper-converged storage.
• HA/DRS configuration with high availability, DRS and failover planning.
• VMware networking including vSwitches, distributed switches, VLANs & port groups; Horizon/VDI experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of VMware vSphere administration.
• Management of ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters and resource pools.
• Design, deploy and maintain hyper-converged storage with vSAN.
• Automation: PowerCLI scripting, templates and automated provisioning.
