Job summary

Pick Everard in the United Kingdom is seeking a Principal Hydraulic Modeller to lead our hydraulic modelling team across projects from Manchester. You will oversee model development, verification and client-facing deliverables, ensuring high quality outputs on time and within budget.

You will drive technical excellence, mentor colleagues, coordinate surveys and data, and manage health and safety compliance across frameworks, reporting to the senior technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in relevant Scientific or Engineering, Water Engineering, or related discipline
• Chartered CIWEM | ICE with minimum four years post qualification experience
• Excellent technical knowledge in hydraulic model analysis
• Excellent knowledge of drainage and wastewater networks, asset management, and standards
• Able to lead and manage technical teams, including workload planning and quality review
• Proficient in relevant modelling software
• Excellent communication skills with clients, stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects
• Knowledge of survey procurement and data management processes
• Strong Health and Safety understanding

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the workload of your technical team to deliver outputs and support the wider team
• Provide clear instructions, delegate tasks, and take accountability for delivered work
• Provide internal project commercial updates and manage project fees and claims
• Oversee accuracy and quality across modelling work
• Support operation and maintenance of hydraulic models and provide guidance to others
• Identify model requirements and manage survey procurement and related processes
• Act as a lead client facing representative for projects and framework engagements
• Engage in learning and development and support training opportunities
• Support team members’ professional growth and address training needs
• Ensure full Health & Safety compliance
• Liaise with in-house IT to ensure effective software operation
