Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL in Colchester seeks an experienced Project Manager to deliver 11kV–33kV substation packages across private networks in Essex and Kent. The role is with a Tier 1 contractor, offering hybrid work and a permanent contract.

The successful candidate will lead projects from mobilisation to handover, coordinate subteams, manage budgets and risks, and ensure safety and quality across all activities while reporting to the Framework Director.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within substations, utilities or electrical infrastructure.
• Delivery of 11kV–33kV substation projects.
• Experience working in a framework environment, ideally with private networks.
• Strong understanding of electrical substation project delivery.
• Experience managing subcontractors, site teams and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong programme, planning, risk and commercial awareness.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of multiple 11kV–33kV substation projects across Essex and Kent.
• Own projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and engineering resources.
• Manage programmes, budgets, resources and key deliverables.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery to programme.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers and stakeholders.
• Support procurement, planning and resource allocation.
• Identify and manage project risks, changes and delays.
• Ensure HSEQ standards and procedures are maintained.
• Support testing, commissioning and final handover activities.
• Contribute to development and delivery of the private networks framework.
