Job summary

Deploy Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Senior Primary Design Engineer to lead and deliver high-quality primary designs for HV substations and related power infrastructure. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with project managers, clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering.
• Significant experience in primary design within HV substations (e.g. 33kV-400kV).
• Chartered Engineer status desirable or working towards it.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of primary engineering solutions for HV substations and associated infrastructure.
• Produce and review primary design deliverables including layouts, GA drawings, equipment specifications, and technical reports.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, client specifications, and safety requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, checking, and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support project planning, cost estimates, and risk assessment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
