Job summary

vgroup is seeking an experienced 1st Engineer/Hotel Engineer for the cruise vessel Ultramarine. The role involves executing repairs and maintenance outside the Engine Room and supporting engine operations, aboard a passenger ship, under the Chief Engineer.

The contract is 3 months +/- 1 month with embarkation on 02 October 2026. Fluent English is required; STCW95 and CoC A-III/2 certificates are mandatory; extensive shipboard hotel engineering experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Valid STCW95 certification.
  • Valid CoC A-III/2.
  • Appropriate regulatory certification.
  • Extensive shipboard hotel engineering experience, preferably with Wartsila engines.
  • Physically and medically fit.
  • Moral integrity and safety awareness.
  • Public Health/Environmental training appreciated.
  • Able to read technical drawings and manuals.
  • Alaska experience is a plus.
  • Coast Guard/Port State Control experience recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Execute repair and maintenance work outside the Engine Room.
  • Oversee hotel machinery, systems and equipment per standards.
  • Coordinate with other technical parties and departments.
  • Support Engine operation when needed.
