Job summary

V.Group is seeking an experienced 1st Engineer/Hotel Engineer for the Ultramarine cruise vessel. Embarkation is 02 October 2026, contract 3 months +/- 1 month. Requires STCW95, CoC A-III/2, and extensive hotel department shipboard experience. Proficiency in English and AMOS/Microsoft Office is expected.

The role involves supervising hotel systems, coordinating with Engine and Hotel departments, and maintaining safety and regulatory compliance onboard.

Qualifications

  • Valid STCW95 certification.
  • Valid CoC A-III/2.
  • Appropriate certification as required by regulations.
  • Extensive experience on cruise vessels as Hotel Engineer or in a similar role; preferably with Wartsila engines.
  • Physically and medically fit.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings and manuals.
  • Alaska experience is a plus.
  • Public Health, Coast Guard and Port State Control experience recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, operation and repair of hotel systems outside the Engine Room.
  • Ensure stock of spare parts is on hand for planned and unplanned maintenance.
  • Familiarity with lifesaving, fire-fighting and pollution prevention equipment.
  • Collaborate with Safety Officer and Staff Engineer on maintenance priorities.
  • Lead subordinates and report to Chief Engineer/Hotel Director.
