Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Specialist Homecare Pharmacist to shape the future of the Homecare Pharmacy Service and provide expert advice on homecare pathways and high-cost medicines.

You will work as part of the Clinical Homecare Pharmacy team, supporting service development and engaging with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective medicines optimisation across the Trust.

Qualifications

• MPharm degree (4 years) or equivalent.
• Member of GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council).
• Advanced clinical pharmacy experience and practice required.
• Ability to deal with complex clinical issues and high-pressure environments.
• Understanding of risk management and clinical governance.

Responsibilities

• Be a member of the homecare team delivering high-quality service across the Trust.
• Support biosimilar implementation and NHS resource stewardship.
• Contribute to management of specialist conditions and biologics coordination across teams.
• Participate in MDT meetings and clinical decision making.
• Review blueteq to ensure NICE guideline alignment.
• Assist with clinical training and supervision of staff.
• Support management of the Pharmacy Homecare Service and staff.
• Coordinate with external homecare teams and review service level agreements.
• Contribute to the annual Homecare audit and to the clinical pharmacy rota.
