Job summary

Avon Search is seeking an experienced Home Manager for a small residential care home near Whitehaven, Cumbria. The role leads daily operations, ensures high-quality person-centred care and supports five residents with learning disabilities and autism.

The successful candidate will bring leadership, safeguarding and CQC compliance expertise to maintain a safe, homely environment and continue improving care quality in a setting with a strong foundation and a Good CQC report.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential care for adults with learning disabilities and autism.
• Previous management or supervisory experience, or potential to progress from Deputy Manager to Home Manager.
• Knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and relevant legislation.
• Understanding of person-centred care and individual support planning.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the staff team.
• Ensure the delivery of person-centred care.
• Promote residents’ independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing.
• Maintain compliance with CQC regulations and relevant legislation.
• Oversee care planning, risk assessments, audits and quality assurance.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and policies are followed.
• Manage recruitment, staffing, training and rotas.
• Support staff performance, development and retention.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and external professionals.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive home environment.
• Monitor service quality and identify areas for improvement.
