Job summary

Avon Search & Selection is seeking an experienced Home Manager to lead a small residential care home near Whitehaven, Cumbria, specialising in learning disabilities and autism.

The role requires strong leadership, a track record in person-centred care, and knowledge of CQC regulations. We welcome Deputy Managers ready to progress, with NVQ Level 5 preferred and a negotiable salary based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential care, ideally supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism.
• NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Adult Care or willingness to work towards.
• Knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and relevant legislation.
• Ability to deliver person-centred care and individual support planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the staff team.
• Ensure consistent delivery of person-centred care.
• Promote residents' independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing.
• Maintain compliance with CQC regulations and relevant legislation.
• Oversee care planning, risk assessments, audits and quality assurance.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and policies are followed.
• Manage recruitment, staffing, training and rotas.
• Support staff performance, development and retention.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and external professionals.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive home environment.
• Monitor service quality and identify areas for improvement.
• Keep residents' needs and aspirations at the centre of the service.
