Job summary

Academics is seeking a confident and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a high-achieving primary school in Epping, working two days a week. The role runs until July 2027 with potential for permanent employment thereafter and offers on-site parking and convenient access to train stations.

You will lead learning, provide targeted pupil support and collaborate with teachers to ensure engaging lessons and meaningful progress for pupils across the primary age range.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or relevant experience taking responsibility for whole-class learning and supporting teaching staff.
• Proactive attitude, strong classroom management and a genuine passion for primary education.

Responsibilities

• Lead lessons and deliver planned learning activities across the primary age range.
• Provide targeted support to pupils who need additional guidance or encouragement.
• Help maintain a positive classroom atmosphere where children feel confident to participate.
• Work closely with teachers to support progress and identify areas where pupils may need extra help.
• Encourage independence, curiosity and positive learning habits.
• Adapt activities to meet pupils' different abilities and learning needs.
