Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver Team Leader through Pertemps to join the Neighbourhood Services team in Aylesbury. This temporary-to-permanent role combines hands-on driving with frontline leadership of a Waste & Recycling Operatives crew, delivering essential refuse collection services across the council area.

Qualifications

• A valid HGV Class 2 driving licence is required.
• A valid Driver CPC qualification is required.
• Experience leading or supervising a small crew.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Safely driving and operating a refuse collection vehicle
• Leading and supporting your collection crew throughout the working day
• Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures
• Monitoring safe working practices and promoting a positive safety culture
• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
• Ensuring collections are completed efficiently and on schedule
• Working closely with supervisors and colleagues to resolve issues on route
• Providing excellent service to local residents and businesses
