Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a Principal Engineer with highway development management experience to lead on developing and promoting highway objectives through the assessment of development proposals. You will provide professional and technical advice to local planning authorities and negotiate developer-funded highway infrastructure.

The role requires experience in HDM/highway discipline, knowledge of highway design, construction and drainage, and a good grasp of highways

Qualifications

• Degree in transport or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience of HDM/related highway discipline.
• Experience of highway design, construction and drainage techniques.
• Good working knowledge of highways legislation.
• Ability to work with Members and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead on developing and promoting the County's highway objectives.
• Assess development proposals and provide professional advice.
• Support planning authorities with technical highway input.
• Identify and negotiate developer-funded highway infrastructure.
