Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is recruiting a Principal Highway Development Management Engineer to lead on the assessment of development proposals, providing professional advice to local planning authorities and negotiating developer-funded infrastructure.

The role is based at one of our highway depots (Whittlesford, Huntingdon or Witchford) with travel between depots required on occasion; it forms part of the Transport and Connectivity directorate driving growth and infrastructure delivery

Qualifications

• HDM experience in highway development management.
• Experience advising planning authorities on highway prosjects.
• Knowledge of highways legislation and local-government processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead on developing, promoting and securing highway objectives through proposal assessments.
• Provide professional and technical advice to planning authorities and developers.
• Negotiate developer-funded highway infrastructure and road improvements.
