Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals is seeking a Senior Tendering Engineer to own the tendering and estimation process for our Core Connections pipeline, spanning 33kV to 132kV (with occasional up to 400kV) across the UK.

In this highly autonomous role you will work with the Senior Tenders & Contracts Manager – Grid, Quantity Surveyor, contractors and DNO/TSO stakeholders to develop accurate, competitive bids and robust handovers.

Qualifications

ICP/DNO tendering or estimating experience in electricity grid projects.
Minimum 5+ years in tendering, estimating or related commercial/technical roles.
Familiarity with NEC and/or FIDIC contracts.
Bachelor-level degree in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Ability to work independently with minimal onboarding.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end tendering for MV/EHV grid projects, reviewing specs, drawings and offers.
Develop detailed cost estimates for HV/MV works including equipment and civils.
Prepare bid pricing using estimating software such as Simpro.
Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to analyse quotes and negotiate terms.
Prepare comprehensive handover documentation for successful tenders.
Provide cost reporting and dashboards to support margin tracking.
