Job summary

DCG is seeking a Lead GIS DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and operate ArcGIS Enterprise in a Kubernetes-based AWS environment. You will own platform reliability, security and scalability, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to drive automation and best practices.

You will lead infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring, while mentoring senior engineers and shaping the GIS DevOps roadmap. Strong communication across technical and business teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience operating ArcGIS Enterprise in production environments.
• Experience running enterprise workloads on AWS, ideally with EKS / Kubernetes exposure.
• Experience deploying or operating ArcGIS on Kubernetes or containerized platforms.
• Solid understanding of Linux, networking, and cloud security fundamentals.
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation.
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for operations and tooling.
• Experience working in collaborative, multi-engineer environments with shared ownership.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working across organizational boundaries.
• Knowledge of English C1

Responsibilities

• Lead design, configuration, upgrading, and lifecycle management of ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, ArcGIS Server, Data Store, Web Adaptors).
• Share ownership of platform reliability, performance, security, and scalability (HA/DR).
• Establish and evolve authentication, authorization, certificate management, and licensing practices.
• Act as technical authority for ArcGIS Enterprise within the team.
• Design and operate ArcGIS Enterprise on a customized AWS EKS (Kubernetes) platform.
• Define Infrastructure as Code and environment standards (Terraform, Helm).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployments, upgrades, and configuration management.
• Collaborate with cloud and platform teams on Kubernetes architecture, security, and observability.
• Drive automation for provisioning, upgrades, scaling, backup, and recovery.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboards; maintain runbooks and incident response processes.
• Mentor senior engineers and collaborate with GIS DevOps peers.
