Job summary

Foundational in London is seeking a Senior Geodesist to lead our geodesy work and ensure ranging data meets international standards, producing trusted products for scientists and operators.

You will lead processing, contribute to reference frames and Earth orientation, define data quality standards, represent Foundational in ILRS/IAG, and guide our data scientists and software engineers on models and algorithms, while publishing at conferences.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in space geodesy or related field.
• Deep knowledge of SLR and at least one other space-geodetic technique (GNSS, VLBI or DORIS).
• Experience with reference frames (ITRF), Earth orientation and IERS conventions.
• Experience with geodetic analysis software such as GEODYN, Bernese or GipsyX.
• Publication record or equivalent track record.

Responsibilities

• Lead geodetic processing and analysis of satellite laser ranging data.
• Contribute to reference frame and Earth orientation products.
• Define data quality standards, and validate our data against international analysis centres.
• Represent Foundational in ILRS, IAG and wider geodetic community.
• Guide our data scientists and software engineers on models and algorithms.
• Publish and present at conferences.
