Job summary

VIQU have partnered with a global eCommerce organisation to hire a Lead Frontend Developer to guide a high-traffic customer-facing platform using React, TypeScript and Node.js.

You will shape technical direction, mentor developers, and work 3 days a week in the office (Tue, Thu and Fri) as part of a hybrid Agile team delivering scalable frontend software. This senior role emphasizes coding standards, performance optimization and collaboration with Product and Delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading frontend teams and mentoring developers.
• Strong understanding of frontend performance optimisation and responsive design.
• Experience in Agile development environments and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across the frontend engineering team.
• Set coding standards and champion engineering best practices.
• Lead code reviews and mentor developers to improve quality and consistency.
• Design, build and enhance a high-performance eCommerce frontend serving millions of users.
• Collaborate with Product, Delivery and Engineering to influence technical direction.
• Drive continuous improvement across development processes and tooling.
• Participate in an on-call rota during peak trading periods.
