Job summary

Talent Agri is recruiting a Poultry Farm Manager for a Berkshire operation operating a multi-age free-range laying system. You will oversee daily management of the laying flock, ensuring high welfare, flock health, production and biosecurity standards on site.

This hands-on role requires practical experience in commercial poultry, independence, and the ability to work with the farm team. Accommodation is included as part of the package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or above in Poultry Production or related agricultural qualification.
• Experience in commercial poultry production, ideally free-range or laying hens.
• Strong practical knowledge of poultry husbandry, flock health and bird welfare.
• Understanding of farm biosecurity, hygiene and relevant health & safety requirements.
• Good mechanical aptitude with basic maintenance and repair skills.
• Excellent organisational and record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.
• Full UK Driving Licence - essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day care and operation of the free-range laying flock.
• Maintain high standards of bird welfare, health and flock performance.
• Monitor egg production, feed usage and environmental conditions.
• Report flock health, welfare or production concerns.
• Keep accurate flock, welfare and production records.
• Uphold hygiene and biosecurity standards on farm.
• Follow procedures and relevant assurance standards.
• Assist with egg grading, packing and dispatch operations.
• Carry out routine checks of poultry housing, machinery and equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs.
• Support general farm, building and site maintenance.
• Maintain Health & Safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with the farm team to improve productivity and standards.
