Job summary

EY is seeking an experienced Forward Deployed AI Engineer to join our Core Business Services in the UK. This hands-on role combines leadership with practical AI development, building agents and automation tools while mentoring peers and delivering across projects.

You will design AI solutions, orchestrate multi-project portfolios, and ensure governance, security, and lifecycle management across environments. Strong collaboration with senior stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Proven AI developer/engineer with a strong project portfolio.
• Strong programming in Python and TypeScript.
• GIT/version control proficiency.
• Strong algorithms, data structures, and software design knowledge.
• Experience with data manipulation tools (Pandas, NumPy, SQL).
• Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse).
• Experience building and orchestrating LLM agents with prompt design and evaluation.
• Experience with cloud solutions and enterprise integration via APIs.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, able to convey complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI agents and automation tools to solve complex problems.
• Create AI solutions across projects, including orchestration layers and scalable models.
• Balance low-code and pro-code approaches in solutions.
• Design cloud-native AI platforms and integrate new offerings.
• Provide technical oversight and QA for projects and the team’s work.
• Set engineering standards and review code produced by the team.
• Translate business problems into deliverable technical scope with effort estimates.
• Manage governance, AI risk, information security, environments, and licensing.
• Lead stakeholder discussions, including presenting work to partners and leadership.
• Mentor junior team members and coordinate delivery across onshore/offshore resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into specs.
• Stay up-to-date with AI advancements and apply them to projects.
• Document code/processes for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
• Lead and participate in code reviews with constructive feedback.
