Job summary

Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our secure inpatient teams. The post involves weekly MDT meetings, CPA reviews, formulation and risk management discussions, with patients detained under the Mental Health Act.

You will be supported by ward staff, a clinical lead, occupational therapist, psychologist and social worker, plus a shared SAS/trust doctor. There are opportunities to become a trainer for trainees.

Responsibilities

• Attend weekly MDT meetings and CPA reviews
• Prepare statutory reports as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act
• Attend First Tier Tribunals, Hospital Manager Hearings, S117 and MAPPA as appropriate
• Lead or supervise trainees and participate in future trainer roles
