Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust in Middlesbrough is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist specializing in forensic psychiatry to provide high‑quality assessment and treatment at Roseberry Park Hospital.

You will act as Responsible Clinician for detained patients, oversee care planning and risk management, and contribute to MDT reviews and service development. Applicants should have MBBS, full GMC registration, and Specialist Register eligibility, with visa sponsorship available.

Qualificações

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or eligible within six months.
• Approved Clinician status or ability to obtain within three months.
• Section 12 approval or ability to obtain within three months.
• Excellent forensic psychiatry knowledge and management of complex cases.
• Strong leadership and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Adherence to Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
• CPD, research or service evaluation experience.
• Ability to teach at undergraduate/postgraduate level.

Responsabilidades

• Provide consultant-level forensic psychiatry services at Roseberry Park Hospital.
• Manage patients on Ivy, Clover or Kestrel ward (low-secure LD service).
• Act as Responsible Clinician for detained patients; oversee treatment and risk.
• Attend MDT meetings, clinical reviews, formulations and risk meetings.
• Prepare statutory reports and attend Tribunal and MAPPA meetings as required.
• Collaborate with ward managers, psychologists, OT, social workers and nursing staff.
• Contribute to clinical leadership, service development and patient care.
• Supervise junior doctors and contribute to medical education.
