Job summary

Cardiff Metropolitan University seeks a Process Operations Manager to lead production, kitchen and testing facilities, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations across our centre in Wales and the UK.

You will oversee maintenance, equipment lifecycle, risk assessments and staff training, working with multiple teams to deliver consultancy, research and teaching activities in a high‑care environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in science or engineering with relevant experience.
• Level 3 Food Safety Management and HACCP or equivalent.
• NEBOSH or IOSH qualification and a UK driving licence.
• Senior management experience in food manufacturing across multiple categories.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, compliant operation of production, kitchen and testing facilities.
• Manage H&S, food safety and hygiene compliance with risk assessments and SOPs.
• Oversee equipment registers, maintenance, calibration and records.
• Coordinate capital equipment procurement and lifecycle management.
• Develop inductions, training and competency records for staff and students.
• Provide operational support for projects, trials, validation and research.

Education

Degree in science or engineering

Level 3 Food Safety Management

HACCP or equivalent experience

NEBOSH or IOSH qualification

UK driving licence
