Job summary

WSP is seeking Associate or Associate Directors to lead local authority flood risk management projects from our UK offices, including Bristol, with experience in the Flood Risk Management Act, National Planning Framework 4, and SEPA guidance. You will deliver flood investigations, strategies, and sustainable drainage master-planning, while mentoring junior staff and growing the company's capabilities.

Qualifications

Experience in flood risk management with local authorities or public/private sector mix.
Understanding budgets and leading delivery of flood risk projects or outputs.
Knowledge of UK regulatory context: Flood and Water Management Act 2010, Land Drainage Act, Planning Practice Guidance: Flood Risk.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

Engage with clients and develop trusted advisor relationships.
Lead delivery of high-quality technical deliverables and act as reviewer/approver.
Mentor junior colleagues and oversee small project teams.
Direct projects, balancing programme, budget and quality requirements.
Identify and develop opportunities to win new work or extensions to existing projects.
Promote H&S behaviours within the team.
Help grow WSP’s technical capability and innovate service offerings.
