Job summary

Ford & Stanley Select in Glasgow is seeking a Fleet Quality Assurance Engineer to join a specialised rail operator. The role offers ownership of technical assurance, engineering change and safety-related activities across a modern passenger fleet, with exposure to senior stakeholders and a broad range of fleet engineering duties.

The successful candidate will lead engineering change activities, support governance, and drive safety investigations while reporting on KPIs and technical risks.

Qualifications

• Rolling stock engineering experience.
• Experience within a train operator, maintainer, manufacturer, ROSCO or engineering consultancy.
• Exposure to engineering assurance, technical governance or engineering change activities.
• Strong stakeholder management experience.
• Experience working within highly regulated engineering environments.
• Ability to coordinate multiple technical workstreams simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering change requests from initiation through to implementation.
• Lead the management and closure of safety-related defects.
• Support fleet technical assurance activities.
• Coordinate technical reviews and engineering governance forums.
• Manage engineering actions and technical investigations.
• Monitor supplier performance and technical non-conformances.
• Produce technical reports, trend analysis and KPI updates.
• Support fleet performance improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical support across the engineering function.
• Participate in the engineering on-call rota.
