Job summary

Stoke City Football Club is seeking a dedicated First Team Performance Analyst specialising in opposition analysis. Based at the Clayton Wood Training Ground, you will turn opponent video and data into actionable intelligence for coaching staff.

You will lead meetings, analyze opponents’ tactics, and integrate set-piece threats into pre-match packages. The role requires working evenings and weekends, with travel to opponents' fixtures.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in Sports Coaching, Performance Analysis or related sport.
• Master’s degree in Performance Analysis or related discipline is desirable.
• UEFA B Licence or above desirable.
• Experience in a performance analysis role within a professional football environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead opposition analysis for all league and cup fixtures with coaching department.
• Analyse opponent tactical identity across build up, pressing triggers, defence and transitions.
• Lead analyst meetings with opposition reports and video presentations for coaching staff.
• Identify key opposition players and matchups; produce opposition clips for players and coaches.
• Work with set piece analyst to integrate opposition set pieces into pre-match package.
• Maintain an opposition database of formations, tendencies and trends using video and data.
• Travel to live scout upcoming opponents’ fixtures where applicable.
• Utilise Hudl Sportscode, Hudl Studio, Wyscout, Opta to agreed standards.
• Maintain equipment and ensure footage/data are stored securely.
