Job description

This fire alarm design consultancy provides specialist support for fire detection and alarm systems, voice alarms, and emergency communication systems. They are seeking to recruit an experienced fire alarm systems design engineer to join their team. The role offers remote work with access to an office in Central London when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

1. All facets of estimating, including cost budgets, proposals, and solutions.
2. Preconstruction design for fire, PA/VA, and EVC systems, including cause and effect matrices, site schematics, and BS 5839 certification.
3. Contributing to business strategy development.

Candidate Requirements

• Technical and estimating expertise in fire alarm systems design, with experience in large-scale projects such as data centres, hospitals, and commercial buildings.
• In-depth knowledge of fire alarm, PA, VA, emergency communications, and electrical suppression systems, including relevant regulations and standards.
• FIA certification, excellent knowledge of BS5839, BS6266, and EN54.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, familiarity with Revit and BIM technologies.
• Ideally, a SCSC card for site visits and surveys.
• Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and self-motivation.
