City of York Council is hiring a Family Help Lead Practitioner to work with children and families under Child in Need and Child Protection. You will conduct Family Help Assessments, deliver interventions and co-produce plans with families, networks and professionals to promote lasting change while keeping children safe at home where possible.

The role operates within an Outstanding service with strong supervision and a commitment to flexible working, including hybrid arrangements.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and families, including safeguarding.
• Strong risk assessment skills.
• Knowledge of child development.
• Experience with multi-agency working and leading practice.

Responsibilities

• Undertake Family Help Assessments and deliver interventions.
• Co-produce plans with families, networks and professionals.
• Hold children through pre-proceedings and participate in court proceedings to develop long-term plans.
• Promote family safety planning and strong work with education, health and voluntary sector partners.
