Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is partnering with a well-established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor in Glasgow to recruit an Estimating Manager. You will lead the estimating function, oversee tender submissions, and help shape competitive pricing strategies across Scotland's rail and civil projects.

You will collaborate with pre-construction, commercial, and operations teams to drive growth, improve tender processes, and secure future work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading estimating teams in civil engineering and infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of cost planning and tender preparation.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts is desirable.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the estimating function, overseeing tender submissions for civil engineering, rail and infrastructure projects.
• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and scopes to establish requirements, identify risks and develop pricing strategies.
• Managing production of detailed cost estimates including labour, plant, materials and subcontractor packages.
• Coordinating and reviewing estimates prepared by the wider team to ensure accuracy and on-time submissions.
• Collaborating with pre-construction, commercial, engineering and operations teams to develop methodologies, assess risks and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors while supporting business development initiatives.
