Job summary

The Highfield Company is seeking an experienced Estimator for architectural metalwork in Milton Keynes. You will take ownership of estimates from enquiry through to submission, shaping bids for balconies, balustrades, staircases and canopies.

The ideal candidate has architectural metalwork or structural steel estimating experience, a strong construction understanding, and the ability to produce accurate, competitive bids to tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating architectural metalwork or structural steelwork.
• Understanding of construction and ability to interpret project requirements.
• Excellent commercial awareness and ability to produce accurate estimates.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Confident communication and client relationship-building.
• Experience in client negotiations and securing new projects.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Sales Director and own allocated estimates from enquiry to submission.
• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates in line with project specs and deadlines.
• Manage client expectations and maintain communication during estimating.
• Attend estimating and pre-contract meetings as required.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, designers and suppliers.
• Support negotiations and contribute to securing new business.
• Lead handover meetings for projects to production team.
• Build and maintain relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
