Job summary

The Highfield Company is partnering with an architectural metalwork specialist in Milton Keynes to recruit an experienced Estimator. The role focuses on preparing accurate, competitive estimates for balconies, balustrades, staircases, canopies and secondary steelwork in line with project specs and deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have estimating experience in architectural metalwork or structural steelwork, a strong grasp of construction, and excellent commercial awareness.

Qualifications

• Previous estimating experience within architectural metalwork or structural steelwork.
• Strong understanding of construction and ability to interpret project requirements.
• Excellent commercial awareness and ability to produce accurate, competitive estimates within deadlines.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Sales Director and take ownership of allocated estimates from initial enquiry through to submission.
• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates in line with project specifications and deadlines.
• Manage client expectations and maintain effective communication throughout the estimating process.
• Attend estimating and pre-contract meetings as required.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, designers and suppliers to clarify project requirements.
• Support negotiations and contribute to securing new business.
• Lead handover meetings for successful projects, ensuring a smooth transition to the production team.

ESTIMATOR - ARCHITECTURAL METALWORK

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £30,000-£45,000

The Highfield Company is working with a growing architectural metalwork specialist that supplies and installs balconies, balustrades, staircases, canopies and secondary steelwork for prominent contractors nationwide.

With an expanding portfolio of main contractor clients and an established supply chain, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a growing team and contribute to the company's continued success.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous estimating experience within architectural metalwork or structural steelwork.
• A strong understanding of construction and the ability to interpret project requirements.
• Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to produce accurate, competitive estimates within deadlines.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Confident communication and relationship-building skills when dealing with clients, contractors, consultants and designers.
• Experience in client negotiations and a track record of helping secure new projects.
