Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Estimation & Strategy
- Lead the preparation and validation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for major tenders across onshore, offshore, and subsea projects.
- Select appropriate estimating methodologies and tools, tailored to the scope and project phase (FEED, Pre-FEED, EPC, EPCI).
- Optimize pricing structures, incorporating market trends, subcontractor input, and internal benchmarks.
- Evaluate and challenge engineering deliverables and execution plans to identify cost drivers, risks, and opportunities.
2. Coordination & Leadership
- Manage and coordinate inputs from technical disciplines (engineering, procurement, construction, scheduling, risk, etc.) to consolidate comprehensive and coherent estimates.
- Act as a key contributor in bid strategy meetings and commercial reviews, supporting pricing decisions with robust data analysis.
- Present cost estimations and recommendations to executive management, partners, and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior estimators and cross-functional teams to ensure quality and consistency in deliverables.
3. Proposal & Commercial Support
- Collaborate with proposal and business development teams to prepare competitive and technically sound bid packages.
- Provide detailed cost breakdowns, unit rates, and commercial qualifications for client submissions.
- Support clarifications and negotiations with clients and partners on cost-related topics during pre-award phases.
4. Strategic Project Engagement
- Contribute to the development of estimation tools, cost databases, and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, client requirements, and contractual guidelines.
- Participate in post-bid reviews and lessons-learned sessions to continuously improve estimating performance.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in project cost estimation, ideally within EPCI/EPC/FEED scopes in energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong technical background in engineering with deep understanding of construction, procurement, and project execution strategies.
- Expertise in developing cost models, price sheets, and financial reports for internal and client-facing use.
- Advanced Excel and estimating tools proficiency; familiarity with ERP/project controls software is a plus.
- Experience in subsea, offshore wind, LNG, hydrogen, or refinery projects.
- Exposure to construction disputes and cost claim evaluations (EoT, prolongation costs, arbitration support).
- Prior experience in multicultural environments and with clients such as TotalEnergies, Shell, Aramco, Orsted, Novatek, or CEA.
