ARM has partnered with a large defence client who are looking for a Lead Estimator to join their team in Glasgow on a permanent basis.

As Lead Estimator, you will be required to provide independent Commercial & Cost Estimating oversight, ensuring all costs and opportunities are collated, modelled, and normalised as appropriate.

The Role:

1. Working closely with supply chain to understand key cost drivers and develop cost modelling.
2. Seek solutions that drive additional value.
3. Work closely with all departments including engineering and manufacturing to ensure cost management and cost control are implemented.
4. Ensure all costs and opportunities are collated, modelled, and normalised.
5. Drive end-to-end cost control along with embedding a cost management framework.
6. Able to influence across the supply chain to develop opportunities.

Requirements:

• Good understanding of analytical estimating techniques to challenge and review supply chain cost estimates.
• Understanding of ways of working to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ability to create, understand, and interpret complex cost models.
• Knowledge of procurement approaches and strategies.
• Familiarity with analyzing different types of supplier pricing returns and contracts.
• Commercially focused background, e.g., Estimating, Quantity Surveying, or Cost; desirable but not essential.
